Les and Beryl Lailey of Gtr Manchester met in an Irish pub in Hulme. As Mr. Lailey was a soldier he had to get back to his work right after their meeting but this couple kept in touch with each other through letters. Then they got married in the year 1956.
In the wedding ceremony the couple was given a Chicken tin which they kept it inside the kitchen cupboard till they reached 50 years. And now that they are entering their 50th year the couple celebrated it I quite an unusual manner.
Mr. Lailey, the husband kept the chicken tin preserved specially for this occasion. And well what lese he had a gala meal with this chicken tin.
We wish them all the luck so that they can soon celebrate their 100th year as well.
