Planning Your Wedding

Once your fiancé pops the question, it’s time to start tackling the planning process. After the initial excitement sets in, so can the stress about everything that you need to get done before the big day.

There are all sorts of details to sort out, from hiring a wedding photographer to picking the right dress.  The more tasks that you start to see pile up, the more that you can start to feel totally overwhelmed.

The best way to keep yourself from going crazy is to plan ahead as much as possible and create a checklist.  If you’re in the middle of planning a wedding, then take a look at some of the best tips for making the process go as smoothly as possible.

1. Start Early

Having a plan set in place will ensure that you’re not stressing the day of your wedding, wondering how you’ll ever manage to make everything happen.  It helps to have a list of everything you need so that you don’t risk missing a single step.

2. Set a Budget

It’s easy to get carried away quickly with spending if you’re not careful. There are all sorts of little extras that can pile up as you go. It’s important that you take all of the smallest things into account before you get started. Without having a realistic idea of all of your expenses, it’s easy to overspend before you even realize it’s happened.

Set a budget and stick to it so that you don’t find yourself starting off your marriage in extreme debt!

3. Less Is More with Your Guest list

prepare Guest listIt’s thoughtful to want to invite as many people as possible to your wedding; however, the reality is that you can’t possibly invite everyone that you know. It’s critical that you are selective with the number of people that you invite.

Without setting a limit for yourself, you’ll eventually wind up way over your head. Remember that the bill is on your end! You’ll have to supply food and drink and, in some cases, lodging.  So make sure that you can accommodate your number of invitees.

4. Get Plenty of Help

You may be somewhat of a control freak and want to ensure that you’re in creative control.  However, you’ll need all of the help that you can get if you’re going to pull it off. Make sure that you enlist plenty of help throughout the process!
