I am mixing up a cocktail recipe that calls for 1 sugar cube, but I would preferrably use homemade simple syrup as it mixes more easily and more thoroughly than sugar, let alone a sugar cube. 1 ounce sounds right, but I just wanted to be sure without wasting some top shelf booze. What do you suggest?
