4 Beauty Tips for Your Wedding Day

Your wedding day is one of the most exciting days of your life, and with all the attention you’ll be getting and all the pictures you’ll be in, it’s very important that you do everything you can to look and feel your best on the day of the wedding.

Thankfully, you don’t have to go at it alone. Check out the following four beauty tips to ensure you look and feel fabulous on your wedding day.

1. Get plenty of sleep.

Your nerves will be going crazy the night before your wedding, but it’s very important you try to get some sleep so that you’re well rested the next day. Try not to schedule too much to do the night before the wedding. So instead of having the rehearsal dinner the night before, do it two nights before. Then, maybe do relaxing activities the day before your wedding, such as getting a massage or doing some retail therapy.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep, try natural sleep remedies, such as using lavender oil or drinking some tea (without caffeine of course). Whatever you do, do not take any sleep medication, as you may end up feeling groggy in the morning, and that’s the last thing you want to experience on your wedding day.

2. Complete beauty treatments a week before the big day.

Most brides opt to go through some type of beauty treatments before their wedding, such as cosmetic dentistry to whiten teeth or getting their hair cut and colored. While these are great ideas, it’s always best to do them at least a week before. This way, if you end up not liking the dye job on your hair, you won’t be stuck with it for your wedding day and instead have a week to get it fixed.

3. Give yourself plenty of primping time on your wedding day.

As the bride, you are the most important person at the wedding, so it’s very important that you give yourself plenty of time to get ready. If you are having your hair or makeup professionally done, schedule these well in advance of the actual wedding. Some brides make the mistake of scheduling their bridesmaids to get done before them, but if the stylist is running behind schedule, you may end up either not getting styled, or getting a rushed style. Either way, you don’t want that. Although you may not want to wake up early to get your hair and makeup done, just do it.

4. Have an emergency beauty kit on hand.

Mistakes happen, and unfortunate events happen, so it’s always better to be prepared. Create an emergency wedding beauty kit and bring it with you during the day. The kit should include bobby pins, safety pins, deodorant, gum, double-sided tape, scissors, lipstick, eye shadow, concealer, and anything else you think you may need. This way, if a beauty emergency occurs, whether hair, makeup, or ensemble, you’ll be prepared to fix it before making your grand entrance down the aisle.
